Folk Inspired / Take One

My closet seems to be divided into two distinctive categories--"folk inspired" and "classic ladylike". Coats and jackets by Nanette Lepore and dresses by Theory hang next to thrifted blouses and seem to blend well together.
I gave myself an assignment this week--create three folk inspired combinations for spring.  There's to many pictures for one day, so I'm dividing them into three separate posts.  Dean, my husband was at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas this week, so I was a "one woman show" taking these pictures.  I had fun making this group of photos and I hope you enjoy the looks.  Thanks to those who joined my site this week!

jacket--Nanette Lepore
shoes--Earth
pants--New York and Company
blouse--George

  1. This is really a unique outfit, Ann, which almost reminds me of Bavaria, where I live!
Especially as an artist it suits you so well.

  4. What a beautiful outfit! I love the jacket, but especially like the way you've paired it with the blouse and pants. The prints are a wonderful complement to the trim, and all the colors work so well together. That's a lovely backdrop, too!

  9. Highly individualized style that works like a charm. You make the "wearing 'o the green" look a lot less dorky!
You look gorgeous. BTW... the only thing I don't like about ankle length pants is how they look when I sit down. Why, please, does it look less dumb on you than on me?!

    1. Thanks Jan. I know I thought the same thing about how the pants looked when sitting. I think some sock would help. Taking pictures does help one see the positives and negatives of a look!
