Walking on Sunshine
Happy New Year! I'm starting the year with a sunny post featuring accessories. One of the things I've learned from taking weekly pictures is accessories do have the power to change an outfit. The scarf is from Alpha Gypsy. This company creates a beautiful collection of creative and artistic designs one of which is called Gypsy Queendom. Many great pieces are also available on Etsy.
I have a passion for shoes especially in tones of red. Retro styled pumps are one of my favorite shoe styles at the moment. Summer sandals are starting to appear in the stores here in Minneapolis even though we are many months away from warm weather. I just loved these Carlos Santana sandals and couldn't pass them by.

ReplyDeleteI was really impressed when I received this scarf, very nice and wearable with so many things. Gosh it's been so cold here had to try something different, a blast of color in the dark time of year seemed right. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Ann, I was trying to contact you but I couldn't use your mail. I have a new I would like you to know, so if you like, send me a mail ( you can find it on my blog )
ReplyDeleteBye, dan
Oh Ann, just amazing! Being a lover of colors....btw are your shoes burgundy by any chance? I just totally love that color and am looking for some...Bye, Sabina @OceanblueStyle (New blog now! aka Only in Frankfurt:))
ReplyDeleteThanks Sabina, I do like color. I've spent so many years wearing darks, I need a break from them. These shoes are more of a crimson, or medium red I would call it, than burgundy. I think of burgundy as a very dark red. Hope this helps.
DeleteThe lovely yellow background is making me long for spring. We are freezing here in NYC after a blast from the Artic. You look absolutely stunning and vibrant in the beautiful clothes and shoes. I hope this New Year brings your fans many more beautiful posts from you!
ReplyDeleteIt is really cold here too. I was thinking some color would be nice in the winter. Let's hope for a change in the weather soon.
DeleteSuch a pity I am in The Netherlands... I would happily copy you.i have no shame haha. I love this outfit. 1) because it is totally my style and 2) because it looks so good on you. As these can be two different things of course. They coincide (most of the times as a matter of fact). Everything is gorgeous. I envy you your duvet covers haha. Mine are useless as background.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year Ann.

That scarf is so unique and I love that you paired two unexpected colors together. Beautiful!

ReplyDeletethat coat and scarf are fabulous.I have to say that yellow background makes everything just pop.
ReplyDeleteI adore the creative color combinations and the duvet as background. Sunny indeed! Happy New Year Ann! May 2014 be filled with all that your heart desires!
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed this morning, a bit of sunshine, so I thank you kindly for this wonderful post. I couldn't agree more with your take on accessories. It's an amazing thing what one little item can do to an outfit. I just love the way you take our eye to your focus point (of accessory) with your photo's. Great take on the booties and I'm loving how that scarf brought your coat and pants together. As also, Ann, very inspirational.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year - love the studio pics and am loving all the vibrancy of the colors - like pops of paint!
ReplyDeleteSo I love the color combo you are wearing, but that backdrop is awesome! At first I thought it was wallpaper, but I love that you hung up a duvet. Such a good idea! You look gorgeous and so put together.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I found you via the link-up, I am a new follower via GFC!
I love your coat! You always have such great ways of showing off your shoes and accessories in photos! Thanks for linking up for Look What I Got! Hope to see you back tomorrow!

I love those names, Gypsy Queendom and Alpha Gypsy! And the scarf you've chosen is lovely Ann! I agree about the power of accessories, and how taking outfit photos has really made me aware of how much the accessory can make the look! I also applaud you in your skill at editing. You never do too much!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, I'm careful about my editing. I see some posts with so many pictures of one outfit. I see some of the top blogs with as little as two pictures which for me is too small. I like 4-5 pictures max that includes a couple of details. You do a good job editing your posts also.
DeleteI would never have put those colours together, yet they work so well. I'm realising just how conservative I am in my choices. Maybe it comes from being only 5' 1".
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, I am on the petite side too. I look at my pictures and I think I do look taller than 5'5". I didn't think of these colors at first but they were all in the scarf.
Deletefabulous color combo and love so much how your scarf looks over your jacket, and that red shoes!!
ReplyDeletebesos
Wow, as always. This is a sunshiney post. Love all the elements as usual, and am in complete admiration, as usual, and you look beautiful as usual. Burgundy and purple? Of course! So happy to see this. Just made my day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great color combination! Just found your blog and have been pinning up a storm with all your great sophisticated, clean style. I blog primarily about what I wear to a corporate office and love so many of your ideas - definitely looking forward to having them as inspiration on my Pinterest Boards!
