Thank You

After much consideration I have decided this is my final post on my blog. I've been blogging for sixteen months and I've enjoyed choosing outfits, taking photos and most of all the interaction with all of you! Now that it is spring, Dean and I are devising some new creative challenges for ourselves. I've always been a person that was unable to do anything half way, so I'm having to let go of Blue Hue Wonderland.

All of you are brave. Standing in front of a camera making pictures for the world to see is not an easy thing to do. When I started my blog, I thought I would document the clothes I was wearing for fun. I didn't expect to meet like minded and stylish women from all over the world. Thank you for all the encouraging comments. Your posts have brought a smile to my face so many times and your outfits have inspired me to change and challenge my own way of dressing. For all of this I am grateful.

  7. My dear Ann, you are one of my very favorite bloggers and dear dear blogger friend! I am so sad that I won't see your posts... But I totally understand that you are ready to move on to the other things that are important to you! I really do understand that and respect your decision. I will miss you very very much! I hope some day we can cross our paths again, and probably meet in real life, who knows... You have been so supportive, encouraging, and such an inspiration to me. I know blogging takes a lot of time, I sometimes think myself that it's not forever for me, I know I want to do so many other things that take time, energy and concentration. So far, blogging has been such a great thing for many reasons. Like you, I would have never guessed that I would find so much support and friendships with other amazing women around the world, like yourself! I thank you for all, Ann. I'd be very delighted to stay in touch with you if it's possible. But if for some reason it's not, then all the very very best to you. You are a fine, kind and deeply loving soul. And your blog is a real jewel which I know I will want to come and revisit many many times... With love, Natalia

I have so much to do with my artwork in the next upcoming year and something has to give. I enjoyed this time dearly.

  8. Ann! This might sound odd, but I think you are brave to retire your blog! Sometimes, it's just easier to carry on as things are! You are a truly brilliant artist, and although I will miss your posts tremendously, it is so very exciting to read that you are moving forward with new creative endeavors. I hope you will continue to remain in touch! xo

  10. I have to second what Sue said - it's brave to start a blog, and it's brave to know when you need to retire. Your posts have been such complete delights of composition, setting, color, and clothing. And I was fascinated to see the video of your and Dean's work. I wish you all the best in your future, but you will be missed here in Blogland!

  13. Ann, I am joining in the applause, both for what you have shared here on your blog, and for making the decision that it's time to follow your creative passions elsewhere. I admire those who make the time to blog--I have considered doing it, but always come to the conclusion that my very full, creative life doesn't have room for it at this time. And I admire those who follow their hearts to do what they are being truly called to do. I have really enjoyed your sense of style--and seeing beautiful shots of MN. I still long for the beauty of it after 25 years in the desert SW (though it is also beautiful here.) Best of luck to you in your artistic endeavors in the future!

    1. Thank you Linda, I appreciate your kind remarks. Sounds like you understand the pull of the creative lifestyle. Blogging has been a needed break for me and many ways. I enjoyed the immediacy of the posts and definitely connecting with other people with a passion for clothing as I do. I have spent many years quietly working in my studio with my husband so being public like this was such a different thing for me to do. If you ever decide to create a blog, just know there's a lot of generous women out there!

I understand the issue about only having so much time in the day to devote to projects and feeling like you need to put in 100% or nothing at all. All too well.

  58. Oh say it isn't so! Ann, you may not leave blogland. I need you. I need your inspiration. I take a week or so away due to chemo and come back to not seeing you and such and now you are not going to post anymore. I know, blogging is a strange medium. It is a venue we step out onto without all the knowledge we need at first but then we learn more of what it is and the challenge to continue rings in my head daily. I came upon a blog once that had a little computer in the side bar and on it's screen said: "I love my computer, because all my friends are in it". I loved that saying but also realized that not ALL my friends were in my computer but a great deal of wonderful people are in it. When I was first diagnosed at the bad hospital, I sunk in my chair and went white, according to my daughter, because I was thinking I would have to stop blogging, because how could I post with a bald head? How could I begin to tell people about my cancer? How many would be devotees and how many would run from the fears or the ignorance? Ann, I was so surprise when I announced and EVERYONE minus about 3, rallied around me, called me, mailed gifts, wrote such sweet comments and YESTERDAY I posted my first nearly bald head on my post. My hair is due to fly off my head this weekend! I am not bothered. I have a wig that I hate, I have about 10 hats and a zillion scarves. nope, I want to be au naturale! Blogging did that. Blogging gave me the confidence and friendship and support to be ME.

I am not saying all this to get you to come back, I'm not. I am saying it was a farewell to a great blogging artist that has given me the courage to be me online, in the vast web of non-privacy to just be me and share me and give all the love in my heart to those I know online, You! I sure would love to hug you in person some day. {bucket list} and I wish you and Dean the very utmost in success with your Art. You are a very talented and blessed lady. ♥, Renae

    1. Yes Renae, all you say is true for me also. I so do enjoy the people and the inspiration. I do miss making my posts, maybe just need to take it not so seriously and do what I can. I saw your post yesterday and you are an inspiration. I think you are doing amazing, showing us all the reality of what you are going through and doing it with confidence. I do admire you! I think I'm having trouble with the amount of social media I've done. I have a whole other creative life outside of blogging and it was all getting to be too much. I was feeling stressed and just couldn't keep it all going. My husband needs me with our art right now, this is how we make a living. I still have many ideas for fashion blogging. Hopefully I can pick it up again, I think so. I will keep following you because you are one special lady! Through your post I can see your strength and I think you are helping many. I loved seeing your smile yesterday. I see your beauty Renae, it is undeniable.

  64. My dear Ann! You are a gem! Your blog is an inspiration! The most professional one I've seen in blogland and yet so wonderfully real!! Your marvelous backdrops are only outshined by your natural beauty and gorgeous outfits. Every post is a work of art. Like a favourite book, that has chapters and pages, and comes to an end--we can still enjoy this timeless blog. I love your blog more than reading a fashion magazine!

Blogging is very time consuming, even for an amateur like me, I can only imagine how much more time it takes for you, especially since you take the time to respond to each comment and write such encouraging comments on our blogs. I don't comment as much as I should because of time. I teach dance every day and must prepare for classes; housework and real life is also very time consuming - lol

I have not had a chance to read all these responses, but by the sheer numbers of comments: you are loved and will be missed by all of us!!

Blessings and best wishes for everything you put your hands and heart to,
    ♥ carmen

    1. Thank you Carmen. I appreciate the sincere thought of this comment, it really means a great deal to me. I did try to be a voice of encouragement in the blogging world. I did find I was spending more and more time on each post you are right and my other creative endeavors need attention right now. So maybe I can come back as time goes along. You are such a lovely and generous person. I can tell by this comment here. Just the type of person in real life that is delightful to be around. You are creating a wonderful blog that is inviting and creative.

  65. Ann I've been catching up on blog reading as I'd been away and was so busy the week before I went away - and this is why I hadn't seen you in my Bloglovin feed! I'm so upset BUT I really wish you well with your new adventures. It is a big decision to give up a blog... I was only ever going to do mine as a one year project, but here I am three years later. The very best of luck, I shall miss your colourful creations and photos!!

    With much love,

    1. Thank you Catherine for stopping by and commenting. Yes it is a big decision, you are so right. As you know blogging does take a great deal of time. I can see the amount of time and dedication you have put into your incredible creation. I had to decide what came first my art or my blog. I've been working as an artist for over 30 years, so art it is for me. Although I do love fashion and truly enjoy the "one woman spirit" of blogging. Take care Catherine, I'm still following yours inspiring posts.

I appreciated having your perspective from the northland, where I grew up. I understand totally. New projects are exciting and take time. Blogging is a huge commitment, and life changes. I wish you the very best in your new adventures. XO
