One Skirt, Worn Two Ways
I was taking some clothing to my local consignment shop and waiting the 20 minutes while the clerks made decisions on which items of mine to sell. Of course I looked around and of course, I found something I just had to bring home. This skirt is the kind of design I love, inky paints spots in a great color on a pencil skirt.
In this post I styled it two ways. One with a white trench and one with a deep navy jacket. One skirt worn two ways.

Ann - My single favorite thing in your post is that wonderful polka dot blouse you are wearing with your "new" skirt. Sure, the coat and jacket look great, but the pattern mixing with that blouse is fabulous.ReplyDelete
Thanks for saying that Jeanne. I just added the full picture of the polka dot blouse, point well taken.Delete
I swear you are a pro model. This skirt is tremendous! I love how you paired it and such. Great job!!!ReplyDelete
Fab consignment find. I love that you have paired it with a smaller dot pattern in the one photo.ReplyDelete
I can only assume that you had an extra pair of pants for the shoot since getting that shot of the skirt on it's own in the vines would mean you are partially naked : ) ...the sign of a true fashion blogger LOL.
Nice find! You've styled the skirt beautifully, Ann!ReplyDelete
Both ways look wonderful but I really find the combination with your navy jacket my favorite.
Gorgeous photos, too!
Thanks so much. Seems my blog has two types of members. Both the "arty" and the "classic" ladies--this post has something for each.Delete
What a great skirt! I love the imky spots pattern, and I like how you've styled it both ways.ReplyDelete
Both ways are very chic, however the first is my favorite since I am a huge fan of mixing patterns.ReplyDelete
That Ralph Lauren navy jacket is awesome Ann! Both outfits are my favourites, and I'm particularly impressed with how the polka dots go so perfectly with the skirt. Well Done!ReplyDelete
Such a pretty skirt! I like the second outfit best, maybe because the skirt gets more attention. I'm curious about the blouse, though. In an earlier comment you said you added a full picture of it, but I'm not seeing it. Maybe because I'm on a little netbook?ReplyDelete
You are right Val. I have a picture with the blouse and skirt but I had such a somber expression I put it on then took it off again. We take what seems like a ton of photos I thought I had it covered, but sometimes I see them on the screen and am disappointed.Delete
Love the fun print of that skirt! I like the second outfit, paired with that zipped up jacket the skirt really pops.ReplyDelete
Both combos are winners. The skirt is so sassy. I love your polka dot action there too!ReplyDelete
So perfect, Ann.ReplyDelete
Wow. That skirt would have gone home with me too. Love all your combis and that polkadot blouse is fab. But my favorite is the combination with the Ralph Lauren jacket. Perfect.ReplyDelete
By the way can you change the url of the link of your feature to http://40plusstyle.com/how-to-look-both-elegant-and-colorfully-arty-after-40/ Right now it goes through some strange bloglovin loop....

That skirt is gorgeous! I also really like your shoes in the second look.ReplyDelete

I love the print on this, it's so fun! Love that you paired it with neutrals to let it shine!ReplyDelete
es una combinación perfecta!!ReplyDelete
I love this skirt and you look amazing!ReplyDelete
I am too mesmerized by your gorgeous heels! The skirt has a great versatile print- and your outfit silhouette is lean and keen.ReplyDelete
What a great find at the thrift shop!! Esoecially love the look with the navy jacket because it shows your great figure.ReplyDelete
And Bella is right, your sandals are fabulous - stylish with a comfortable heel.

I love that skirt with the same-color polka dot top!ReplyDelete
Ann, you certainly did reach both the artsy as well as the classic this week. I'm really loving the trench version with the hint of that fun blouse. (Does this put me in the artsy category?)ReplyDelete
Wow, such great & classic style! So pretty!ReplyDelete
