White Blooming Trees

I've been thinking about this post for a while. I thought I would put together items that could be worn to a formal occasion using sportswear separates. I'm enjoying the lace trend this spring and find wearing it with a satin motorcycle style jacket feels right for me.

I had this outfit paired the snakeskin accessories but I think this salmon color looks snappy and vibrate. I found these shoes at my local consignment shop for $8!

Thanks to you that joined by site this week. All of your comments are such an encouragement to keep sharing my point of view.

    1. Thanks Dan. This photo was taken at the park near my house. The city has been planting blooming trees the past 10 to 20 years. They bloom in white, pink and scarlet. We have been experimenting with using a flash on overcast days to enhance the colors in the photo. The purse isn't so bright in real life.

  8. This is one of my favourite posts, Ann.
You look stunning, elegant and trendy at the same time. I love the combination of your lace skirt and the leather jacket. Your salmon red accessories are a perfect match. I really love the whole ensemble.
    Incredible photos too.

    1. Hey thanks Annette! I'm wanting to share more about these photos with everyone because the color is so vibrant. It was shady under these trees so using the flash was necessary and gosh the colors. It looks altered, but it isn't. Dean just put his finger up to block the light of the flash by 50%, you could use some scrim paper also. This technique is worth trying!

  9. This skirt is wonderful, it's beautiful, I love the color and fabric. I love shoes and bag. A look lovely, soft, delicate and elegant. The photos are beautiful.

  10. How lovely, Ann - and a fantastic shoe score! I've long wished for a dimmer camera flash and have used the finger trick with unpredictable (but once in a while really neat) results, but never as beautiful as this! Wow!

    1. I am passing on some incorrect info about this flash technique! Here's the scoop as Dean remembers. Our Canon camera has an option for reducing the power of the flash--genius Canon! We are using the flash as a fill light in shade on a overcast day.

  12. Love this oufit! I am into the lace skirts as well but haven't wore the one I recently purchased. I really like the jacket you chose with it. Great shoe find.

  13. Beautiful lace skirt! And it is an interesting idea to combine it with a sporty jacket, looks great on you. The look would be a bit plane but you balanced it by adding colour through accessories. Perfect.

  15. I absolutely LOVE the neon trim on that Coach purse. And it's nice to see that the trees are flowering. We are still freezing here in the UK, and I am headed your way in a few weeks time, so it is reassuring to know that spring has sprung somewhere in the world.
