I've been thinking about this post for a while. I thought I would put together items that could be worn to a formal occasion using sportswear separates. I'm enjoying the lace trend this spring and find wearing it with a satin motorcycle style jacket feels right for me.
I had this outfit paired the snakeskin accessories but I think this salmon color looks snappy and vibrate. I found these shoes at my local consignment shop for $8!
Thanks to you that joined by site this week. All of your comments are such an encouragement to keep sharing my point of view.

Love the nude lace pencil skirt.
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of dressy and casual pieces and the way the salmon color really pops the neutrals without
ReplyDeletebeing overdone. Another great look for you Ann!
Thanks so much Rebecca. Trying the salmon is a new color for me.
DeleteThe lace blends so beautifully with the blossoms, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteBest backdrop ever, and wonderful outfit, dear Anne.

Ps: Would you consider deleting the WORD VERIFICATION. It is such a waste of time and a nightmare, ahhhhhhhhh.
Wow! I love your lace skirt. It's a surprise for me to see those quite different surroundings in your photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dan. This photo was taken at the park near my house. The city has been planting blooming trees the past 10 to 20 years. They bloom in white, pink and scarlet. We have been experimenting with using a flash on overcast days to enhance the colors in the photo. The purse isn't so bright in real life.
DeleteI love that skirt and the salmon accessories. So pretty together!

In that theme, I saw a dressy sweatshirt worn with a dressier skirt and I love the Look! And yours too~love the pop of salmon. I tried this combo out this week also, and felt great. Did you?
ReplyDeleteI really love the textural interplay as much if not more than the color combination. I have to go to an event on Friday and you're giving me all kinds of great ideas ;-)

This is one of my favourite posts, Ann.
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning, elegant and trendy at the same time. I love the combination of your lace skirt and the leather jacket. Your salmon red accessories are a perfect match. I really love the whole ensemble.
Incredible photos too.
Before I forget - I enjoyed your style interview over at Sylvia's 40+Style a lot!

Hey thanks Annette! I'm wanting to share more about these photos with everyone because the color is so vibrant. It was shady under these trees so using the flash was necessary and gosh the colors. It looks altered, but it isn't. Dean just put his finger up to block the light of the flash by 50%, you could use some scrim paper also. This technique is worth trying!
DeleteThis skirt is wonderful, it's beautiful, I love the color and fabric. I love shoes and bag. A look lovely, soft, delicate and elegant. The photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Ann - and a fantastic shoe score! I've long wished for a dimmer camera flash and have used the finger trick with unpredictable (but once in a while really neat) results, but never as beautiful as this! Wow!
ReplyDeleteI am passing on some incorrect info about this flash technique! Here's the scoop as Dean remembers. Our Canon camera has an option for reducing the power of the flash--genius Canon! We are using the flash as a fill light in shade on a overcast day.
DeleteI hope that whoever made that feature happen got a raise!
DeleteOh Ann,
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous are your photos!
A feminine lace skirt paired with an edgy jacket....unexpected but beautiful! Use of salmon color in your accessories is just perfect!
Love this oufit! I am into the lace skirts as well but haven't wore the one I recently purchased. I really like the jacket you chose with it. Great shoe find.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lace skirt! And it is an interesting idea to combine it with a sporty jacket, looks great on you. The look would be a bit plane but you balanced it by adding colour through accessories. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteAnn you select the best backdrops for your photos... stunning. This is a lovely outfit with the colour combination in particular. The shoes are lovely and have quite a retro vibe.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE the neon trim on that Coach purse. And it's nice to see that the trees are flowering. We are still freezing here in the UK, and I am headed your way in a few weeks time, so it is reassuring to know that spring has sprung somewhere in the world.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, what a lovely location, I adore lace and the pops of colour.
ReplyDeleteBam! Classy, classic, contemporary, and gorgeous! I LOVE the pop of neon amidst the sea of tasteful beige.
ReplyDeleteAh Bella you are to kind.
DeleteUm, LOVE your classy look with that pop of color!

I almost missed this post. What would be a pity. I love the lace skirt and how you mixed it with the leather jacket. But the best is that you add these beautiful 70s style shoes in red. You look amazing Ann!
ReplyDeleteReally, really fine combination. That jacket and that skirt were made for each other, and neither designer knew it! You just have the most extraordinary taste. Lovely, Ann!
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning, love the colors, love the background contrast and your skirt pattern is fabulous!
