Knit dresses for the summer are so easy. I like wearing them because of the effortless care plus they are cool in temperature. Worn with comfortable sandals and a pretty handbag, I'm ready to go just about anywhere.
Yes, like you, I adore clothes and probably always will. Like my paintings, I see each post as a fashion tale to share with you. I'm enjoying getting to know the vast variety of bloggers and take pleasure sharing my weekly adventures into my one woman mini fashion productions.
Carelia of My Small Wardrobe is a blogger I admire in the large pool of 40 plus ladies. I find her posts inspiring because she takes an item, say a hat or a pair of shorts, and builds a post around doing something fun like taking a trip and even going fishing!

Well Ann, your aesthetic is on my short list of those I admire. I agree with you about knit dresses. Most of mine have become too big after losing weight so I'm on the hunt for more. I love the one you're wearing and the Vera Wang necklace is beautiful as well.

Thanks Alicia. Put the dress in the washing machine, no ironing and roll it in a ball for traveling. It doesn't get any better than that for summertime clothing maintenance!
DeleteBlack and white AND it's a wrap dress! So stylish Ann. I also love just how easy a knit dress is to wear, the beauty of it being that you feel as fresh in it at the end of the day as you did when you first headed out in the morning:) And again, what beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks fabulous on you and I'm sure you could conquer anything in it :)
ReplyDeleteYour photos are just beautiful. I need to take a class. I am continuously battling the glare in mine, as we have many windows in our home. Hopefully, more will be taken outside now!
Omg Ann!! I feel honored to inspire you and be mentioned in your great post. I must say your sophistication and elegance is definitely inspiration for me. Perhaps in this post, you managed to look refined, yet chic by wearing one statement accessory with your beautiful printed dress.

Just spreading the love--I think you do a great blog!
DeleteWhat a fun backdrop! And I love London Times. So many fun things to look at in this post. Thanks for sharing on #MondayMingle
ReplyDeleteFabulous print on that dress, and what an amazing backdrop you've found!
ReplyDeleteYou do find such unique backgrounds! The dress is lovely - all those chains make me think of the Beatles' song Chains. And such an original necklace, too.
ReplyDeleteHey thanks Val! I live a couple of miles from the Minnesota State fair grounds. It's filled with wacky permanent stands for all the different vendors. This on is a fifties inspired restaurant. The colors and graphics are fun plus no people this time of year so I feel free to try all types of poses!
DeleteBlack and white perfection, dear Anne.
ReplyDeleteYou and your backdrops are always a piece of art.

Thanks Annette. This dress is a faux wrap design. I have several wrap dress and they always need rewrapping as the day goes on. This dress just slips over the head and belt just ties over the top.
DeleteI love the pattern in that dress.

I also love your blog thanks
I agree with with in the part about your outfits being part of your fashion tales, your fashion history and part of your everyday life. This is how I see my way of dressing not just for my blog or the camera but for the life that I'm living.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of cameras, your photographer (maybe is you, I don't know) have some amazing skills.
Have a lovely weekend,
I think blogging was helped me define and really "see" my style. For better or worse, I see what I like and what I want to change. Seeing your self in pictures really makes everything so visible.
DeleteI studied commercial photography when I was in my 20's so directing and styling these pictures is my part. My husband and I work as a team in our creative job and I think my blog is my creation, but his eye is part of this also.
Although I follow and enjoy many blogs that are the "this is what I worn today" format, I find my passion is for blogs that do stories or editorials with their pictures. I think this is what I am trying to do. Post small stories around clothes. My artwork is detailed and takes several months to complete one piece so making my posts seems quick and more immediate.
DeleteThanks Ofelia for your comments, they helped me define my process!
Gorgeous dress! I love the playful setting too.
ReplyDeleteAgain, you dazzle. The locations you use for your photo sessions are always so interesting and really make you stand out. I love the two round taillights book-ending your first photo. I agree, there's nothing like a lovely knit dress to feel cool in the summer. You do this look so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteFinally, I have something in common with you, beyond the fact we both love clothes! My black and white dress you've already seen today is from London Times as well.
ReplyDeleteYou look quite beautiful, as always.
Have a grand week!
I adore this printed dress. It looks so cool against the blue wall! Beautiful necklace, too.
