A reader of Blue Hue Wonderland named Anne sent me an email requesting I show some casual outfits. This week I added this jacket to pieces I already own to show how one piece mixes with many outfits that are both dressy and casual. This jacket is made by Guess and I would wear it with all of these outfits in this post. Although online Macy's is sold out of this color. I also tried on the white jacket and it is attractive too.
If you are a reader of my blog, you know I like jackets and coats. The majority of my monthly clothing budget is spent on unique jackets and coats so I watch sales for basic pieces for good prices. Most of my sweaters I buy at thrift stores. In fact this sweater was $3! I do like colored jeans and buy them often on the end of season clearance. I'm liking the fit of Jones New York Jeans these days.
When it comes to a comfort shoe I purchase Naot's. I love heels but I really do buy most of my heels for great prices so a truly comfortable pair of walking shoes is a must. I've had these oxfords a couple of years and find them to be so easy on the feet. Naot's souls form to your individual foot as you wear them to make a custom fit.

The leather jacket is beautiful, I love it. The whole look is perfect, elegant and simple. The shoes are cute. My favorite is the look with the skirt. I love the mustard colored handbag.
ReplyDeleteYou look great both classic and casual, Ann. Your jacket and dark pants suit you perfectly! To have some confortable shoes is essential, and me too keep some pair ( just in case. . . )
ReplyDeleteI love your boots and your mustad bag is beautiful.
I also like the location and the fabric in the background. It would be nice to see a post in your studio among your tools and works. . .
I'm planning to take some pictures at the studio in the next few weeks. We are getting ready for a show there soon. Great suggestion.
DeleteI love everything here, Ann...but that teal jacket is fabulous!! Have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThe Color and the Cut of the Leather jacket is so pretty. This pretty jacket would be my Favorite pieces of fall. I like all your Combinations, but at most the combi with the blue dress and tights. The shoes looks comfy and stylish at the same times.
ReplyDeleteThe background of the pictures is great too,
That is my kind of jacket! Gorgeous colour. I love the idea of your background too. Have a lovely day xx
ReplyDeleteTeal is an awesome colour, great for in between seasons and looking fabulous with animal print.Love the Leo top! The Mustard bag is fabulous, my new favourite colour for winter although summer has just begun down South!

Great, great, great. Love all pieces. The shoes in the second photo are so good with the trouwers and the leather jacket. Also the "yellow" bag is terrific as a different colour to this outfit.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
PS thanks for the idea of the duvet cover. When I know how to make a decent photograph indoors, I will use that trick.
I like those shoes too. I thrifted them for $10. They are covered with fabric in a feather print. I've been waiting to wear them for a while, until I found the right outfit.
DeleteI have such shoes as well. Twenty two euros in a thrift shop and fabulous. Bright yellow haha.
DeleteWith me is skirts. When I get into a shop, any type of shop I go first to the skirts, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteI love jackets too. I wear no coats because it is too warm for anything but a light jacket ober a blouse.
Looking marvellous, my dear Ann
Ps:
please, please, please reconsidere the WORD VERIFICATION, AHHHHHHHHHHHH iam going blind. I have 4 goes already, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I find it interesting that you buy sweaters at thrift stores. I will look closer at the sweater aisle, which I tend to breeze by...my previous luck wasn't so stellar...most of my sweater finds were pilled or misshapen. As an avid thrifter, I look forward to seeing what sweater treasures I can find on my next visits. On the flip side, I've found some really great jackets and coats at thrift stores, which I find surprising. Of course, I always seem to be drawn to the colourful ones, and perhaps people donate them because they think they aren't as versatile! Which leads me to this jacket!!! Fantastic...{and never to be found at a thrift store, LOL!} LOTS of great ideas here...thanks for sharing so many looks, all of which are gloriously beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes you can unearth some incredible items thrifting. I especially find heels, sweaters and skirts. This bright green Coach bag was purchased at a consignment shop called Turnstyle. Thanks for stopping by Sue!
DeleteWhat a fantastic jacket! I just bought a teal coat - also by Guess. I'll have it in my next post, I think. I love teal, and I love how you paired it with a subdued chartreuse - what a gorgeous combination. I like all your outfits here!
ReplyDeleteThanks Val, it will be fun to see your teal coat. I've seen many coats by Guess that I like this season.
DeleteThat jacket is gorgeous. I love that colour. So great when combined with the lime. In fact I love all the colours here. Very creative.

Cannot pick a favourite here Ann. That jacket is fabulous! I also enjoy your sharing about some of your shopping processes. And I love the thrifted sweater. I also thrift (a little) and have found some amazing things and I find the mix of higher end with lower end and thrifted pieces makes for a interesting and indiviudual pairing that allow the style of the wearer to really shine through. AND I adore your backdrop. Permission to copy?? Tho I suspect I am not as organised, or disciplined when it comes to my blog shoots :)
ReplyDeleteQuilts, sheets and duvet covers all make great backgrounds. It's been windy here so I had to think of something indoors this week. I've photographed a post last winter with a quilt background. By all means give this a try! I didn't invent this idea, I saw it in a magazine.
DeleteThanks Ann, that's brilliant. I would not have thought of using things like quilts, sheets etc. I taking a week's holiday from work and may have a play with what I have.. thanks :)
DeleteAll the looks are great! The leather jacket is so luxurious with the fur collar and the rich color. I always love your jackets that you feature (and shoes, purses…ok everything!).

In your second photo...the yellowish colored bag...Omgoodness it is stunning. I too buy many of my sweaters via Ebay, thrift or vintage. I find that I can find more interesting designs.
ReplyDeleteI love the collar of your leather jacket! Perfect for colder weather. For me no matter how casual you dressed, there's always an aura of elegance that trailed you and not everybody possess this quality.. priceless!

Thanks Mrs. C, you are so sweet!
DeleteIn my opinion, every single fashionista should own a moto jacket. You have a wonderful taste my dear!! This jacket remind me of the ones Mackage makes which are extremely expensive. I love the color and the oversized collar.

Thanks Carelia for stopping by. I agree with you completely, a moto jacket is a must. Well maybe a few of them, in colors!
DeleteLove your outfit! So classy and so chic!! Totally digging the moto jacket..Stopping by from momtrends link up..http://willfullyelegant.wordpress.com/2013/10/27/bag-the-cause/
ReplyDeleteI love the color teal and that jacket! It´s perfect for autumn and that dark green pants and snow leopard printed top combination, I´m digging that too. So chic. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the variety you have in this post today. I love the various shades of green. Your artistic eye is amazing! Thanks for your fun comments. They DO put a smile on my face.

Wow ... that's a complete beauty. You look terrific in your jacket. And I have just been fussing about what to wear with a pair of almost-teal-not-quite-green-either silky, slouchy pants. Timely tutorial ! I don't do animal prints much, but a black, tan or cream might work! Thank you, Always Beautiful Ann!
ReplyDeleteHow was the show? Has it happened yet?
I think I know what you mean about animal prints. They can look so "hey I'm over 50ish" can't they. The cream in this sweater seems to work with my hair color. Still getting ready for the show.
DeleteGreat jacket and I'm intrigued by your monthly budget! Sounds very organized and I liked hearing your insight. I also am impressed with the sweater that came from the thrift shop! So lovely - I don't have much luck thrifting, but my daughter does. I think it's my lack of patience and I tend to shop for a specific item. The computer + sales are my friends!

How nice to visit your studio, and the duvet cover makes a lovely and dramatic background.
ReplyDeleteThe teal jacket is a beauty, and it looks like it will keep you warm during the winter about to arrive. You do casual to perfection! But that is hardly a surprise.
I love to see the combo of outfits. The Duvet cover is a trick I have employed in the past (actually I use a tablecloth) but your lighting is so much better. Do you have Lights and those umbrella things going on? I hope you will link up one of these amazing outfits in this post this week for the Fashionista Style hop: http://www.modlychic.com/2013/10/dvf-oversized-sweater-dress.html
ReplyDeleteEntered your blog hop and yes I do use lights and umbrellas. Thanks for stopping by and asking me to join in.
DeleteLove that jacket- it's adorable! Alex

That jacket is lovely!! I really like it when I'm able to find a jacket that's actually warm enough and pretty too!
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is lovely!! I really like it when I'm able to find a jacket that's actually warm enough and pretty too!
ReplyDeleteYes Ann, my Mom had great taste. She would have loved seeing your items and the style you have. She was my coach and gentle guide Then when I was older and wouldn't want some of my clothes, she would always want to go through my contribution items before they were donated. So I guess it went full circle. Have a wonderful Halloween and November ahead. Thanks for your welcomed visits always.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful combinations All things match each others perfectly in style and in colour! My favourites are the green pants, the jacket and of course the amazing shoes.

The jacket is great. It looks soft and classy and the colour is so much more flattering than black. The brogues are just fab too!
ReplyDeleteWow, first, you look fantastic. I absolutely love the jacket with those blue shoes, that first shot. But your backdrops are incredible. You could wear a garbage bag and look great in this setting with your photography skills.
