The motto for the state of Minnesota is "land of 10,000 lakes" so here I am wearing my favorite red trench near tranquil blue water. I like a bright colored trench for that time in between the warm and cool seasons. I wish I could give you a link to this coat but it was purchased from JC Penney's several years ago. A bright coat lifts my spirits on gloomy or raining days. Today is absolutely beautiful like a postcard highlighting fall colors and sunshine.

Love the brightness of this coat! And it looks amazing in the autumn sunshine and with a blue water as a background. So very beautiful photos. The bag too is a real eye-catcher. Wonderful, as always, Ann!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning place! Your bright outfit has found a so beautiful autumnal location. The mix of yellow and brown leaves, and their reflection on lake water are...wow!!
ReplyDeleteYour trench is just perfect in this season, and you are lovable wearing it! The bag is very cute and, what to say about your boots? I love them!!!
Spectacular colour and patterns, Ann! You are amazing on that rock bridge - I'd be the one dropping a gorgeous purse in the water, lol.
ReplyDeleteDropping the purse in the water did cross my mind, so did falling in the water!
DeleteThis is a great bright color for these Coat and makes the grey season a little bit brighter. The boots looks elegant and comfy and the bag with the floral-print is a pretty eyecatcher.
ReplyDeleteDear Ann, this is a perfect outfit for a nice autumn day, i love it.
What a great location for this photo shoot...highlights the coat so well. Just gorgeous, Anne! This double-breasted style is really in this year. You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great look, brings sunshine to a gloomy day. Beautiful location.

red is my favorite colour. you look beautyful!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous look! Smashing red coat and I really like the cropped trousers and booties too. I'm envious of your gorgeous scenery and (apparently) fall weather too.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the sort of day I miss from my years in MN. How I long for autumn down here in Arizona! (Though we are having lovely weather too right now, perfect in its own way--but no leaves change. And there are no real lakes, of course.)
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit and I am quite impressed that you crossed over to sit on that stone past the shoreline in those heels. . . You must have great balance!
Thanks Linda, there's talk of snow up north this weekend. Autumn is the best time of year but in January I'd love some days in Arizona.
DeletePlease come down some January!
DeleteYou look absolutely beautiful! Amazing photos :)

Just loving that coat! Alex

What a gorgeous location!!
ReplyDeleteGreat color of your coat!! I also love your shoes. Exactly this color and this kind of heel I´m looking for to buy. I hope I will find some, just nice as yours.
All this amazing photos can be used as postcards. ;)
have a wonderful weekend

Thanks Dana Jo, these are comfortable for a heel. I think the platform on the bottom helps for the comfort. I looked quite a bit this fall for a basic boot and this one fit the bill.
Deletesuch pretty landscapes and amazing pics, you're so talented and stylish!!, and you're looking gorgeous in red!, that trench is really a great piece to cheer up any autumnal day, and love your accessories!

Wow...Beautiful...I love your pants as well...

Wow! Love the jacket, the color is beautiful on you! Every time I look at your blog, I am inspired to go through my own closet and make something new.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I'm so glad to hear you say this because I think this is one of the reasons I'm blogging. I hope my pictures inspire women to take another look at the clothes they have and rethink them by adding maybe one new thing. Most of my posts include one or two purchasable pieces. The items I make links to are things I own. I like your words "make something new"!
DeleteAnn, you look absolutely stunning! The coat is such a perfect cut and design for you. I love how this has your signature 'lady like' look but the cropped pant and booties add edge. And as always, such beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteAnn, I love that every outfit post is like a perfectly curated artwork. The amount of details of everything is just perfection!

Wonderful pics dear Ann! You look beautiful in the picturesque surrounding. You bag is absolutely fanastic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful look, and beautiful photos. The coat is cute.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous coat! I almost bought a very similar one at JCP last year. It was a a little longer, but it was a very strong orange - too strong for my pale skin. The shape and tailoring and buttons on yours are so dramatic and graceful. I also love the purse and the way it adds some boho style to the buttoned up coat.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful location, too! We're having gorgeous fall weather also.
Hi Val, I'm guessing it was the same coat. This is a very strong orange. So strong that my camera is processing the color wrong. The coat's color is making the focus fuzzy in some of the lower light pictures.
DeleteI am currently on leave in Portugal but I expect exactly your weather at home when I will be back this week.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos and lovely colours!
I especially love your booties.

As always: perfect outfit, perfect pictures, perfect colour combination. I would never have bought this bag as I would be lost trying to match it. But it looks rich and lovely. Great booties as well. And I share your love for bright coats. Such a shame I have not got many. I used to own an bloody expensive anorak-type of coat. RED with a fur trimming around the hood. Got it for 25% of the price which was still steep. Wore it to death, year after year. Even after 6 winters I was impecable. Alas far too big for the fashion trends then, so I let somebody else enjoy it.

The coat you are speaking of sounds like a beauty. I buy most of my bags at discount retailers. I have a good collection I've purchased over of the years although they seem harder to find these days. I like eyeing the selection for designer labels at great prices.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! Love the clothes and the backdrop of beautiful nature. Thanks for the close-up photos of the shoes and handbag. Always good to get a close look!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments about people wearing hats to the wedding I attended here in England. Unfortunately, not every wedding is as stylish and beautiful as that one. Hat wearing seems to be a dying art, but at the same time, you know--- it keeps on going! I do my bit and dress up as often as I can.
Much love from England,
Rosemary of www.foreveronthecatwalkoflife.blogspot.com
LOVE it all, but the bag is my favorite.

Ann, your photos leave me breathless. You look exquisite and the photos bring me a sense of beauty, harmony and peace (after all - I live in NYC so I need to see this kind of beauty from time to time!)
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca, you leave the sweetest comments. Minneapolis/St. Paul is truly a beautiful city.
DeleteRed is my absolute favorite color! That trench is amazing... but then again, so is the bag. And you pull is all together so effortlessly. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteXO
Ann I always enjoy your pictures. I love how you display the accessories alone, as I adore accessories. Many times they're fonsidered an after thought.
ReplyDeletePerfection. Love every outfit, has given me great ideas, thanks!
ReplyDeleteRed coat in autumn is brilliant! I love those booties, I am eyeing on a pair of Pedro Garcia but couldn't justify another purchase after 2 pairs of shoes recently..

Ah the coats are back and I love this red beauty. Perfect outfit (love the accessories too) and great pictures!
ReplyDeleteAmazing you in red, and the photos are pure delight for the eye.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful way to begin a Monday.
Love and admiration, dear Ann.

A perfect fall day in Minnesota and the red coat amidst the beauty is genius. And the bag; I'm very taken with the colors and texture! I'm always impressed and inspired when I visit Blue Hue Wonderland.
ReplyDeleteThat purse is drool worthy!! And were you scared to death to have your shoe on the railing by the water?! I just know i would knock it off or the wind would pick up or a bird would dive bomb it. Something! ;-)

I love that you paired it with maroon--and I love red with pink too. Its all the same color really!
ReplyDeleteLove the shots! xoxo
Such a beautiful vibrant color!
ReplyDeleteI love the setting. Your windblown hair adds just the right amount of animation to your photos on the lake. And the tranquil waters perfectly mirror the trees. I marvel how you look so beautiful in both vibrant, saturated tones like this fabulous jacket, as well as the softer more subtle tints. Do you find any colours difficult to wear? I can't imagine so.
ReplyDeleteWind can be a difficult factor when taking pictures. I know you know what I mean because I've seen you do it well. White is not a good color for me. Some purples with a reddish base also are not so good. I try to stay away from any color that makes my skin look reddish.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumn pictures and the red coat look great on you :-)
ReplyDeletexoxo Kira
Sweet and simple, perfect combinations. I'm delighted to see that deep, purple-y brown in those little Bandalinos with the red ... so much richer than black.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to fix a water heater, so back to the salt mines. Where is that pipe wrench....?
I do too! That red jacket is perfect for the Fall months!
ReplyDeleteMorning Ann! Your coat looks orange on my screen. Makes me wonder if my colors don't appear as intended. hmmm? No matter the color, YOURS is dang awesome! I love how it fits you and that you styled it lovely with the purse of many colors and the pants of some patterned colors.
ReplyDeleteHey, and fyi: I am starting up a blog hop on Friday. Check and join, k? It will be titled "Fashion Item Friday". My first post in it will be a feature on Fishnet Tights. Yay! I would love to have you join us. ♥
Thank you Ann, for linking with Fashion item Friday! I love how you singled out your awesome purse in the pic section. You are so fun and creative and I am so glad we are friends. You have taught me a bunch in the short time we have known each other here in blogland. (hug)
DeleteThanks Renae, fun to be your blogger friend!
DeleteDropping by from the Three-fer Thursday Linkup! These pics are so pretty! The red of your outfit really pops against the background. And that bag is amazing.

I love the vibrant colour of your coat. It makes a real statement. It's looks a lovely place where you had your photos taken, very relaxing :-)
ReplyDeleteTHAT!! Is a wonderful color combo and of course, you found the right shoes to go with it. I love fall and your look is so appropriate for the weather.
