How the outdoors has changed in one week with the bitter cold and sparkling snow just in time for the holidays. I'm coming up on blogging for one year the first of January. It's days like today that remind me why I called my blog "Blue Hue Wonderland". I do like winter, especially the clothes. This coat was my first post. It's one of my favorite items of clothing so I decided to give it another spin.

Thanks you Alice. I was worried about taking pictures outside yesterday, could it be done? We picked the conservatory because we could step in and out of the door quickly to warm up.
DeleteGoodmorning,Buongiorno Ann...first tme here and enjoy Your great Style...I like your winter scenery with the snow and...Your Outfit is super Elegant...Amazing coat and the scarf add the right note of colour...Fabolous look!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Italy
Wow! It looks really cold, however, you managed to look chic in your great coat and boots. I have few pieces from Nanette Lepore and I think she can be pretty creative with her designs. Your Anne Klein boots awesome, mainly the color!

Thanks Carelia. This coat is around 10 years old and the boots much older. I think Nanette Lepore is a genius, so creative.
Deletewow I love this coat!!!

You rock the coat, absolutely stunning outfit for winter! The backdrop and scenery leaves me green with envy, down south we don't get much snow, only high up on the mountains, and we all dream of a white Christmas! Beautiful pictures!

Wow, I can see why it's a favourite garment - incredibly beautiful and suits you so well! Love your richly coloured accessories, the echo of the glass domes with the embroidery, and that precious bit of sun in the 2nd-to-last photo.
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me, Ann...this outfit is stunning! I can see why you love it and as always, you pictures are perfect!
ReplyDeleteWonderful coat! It does look quite chilly, reminds me of the movie Dr. Zhivago with that glass domed roof in the background.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And your photos are so bright and lovely Ann...xo
ReplyDeleteYou look like you stepped into a fairly tale, Narnia or something. Such a beautiful setting, and perfect for showing such a lovely coat on a snowy day!
ReplyDeleteVery cold here, too, which is odd for us. I can't wait for the snow to melt! And I also started blogging a year ago - my first blog post was Dec. 30, I believe. Happy Anniversary!
A year does feel like an accomplishment. Does it feel this way for you? Today the high in MN was 0, even colder here in Minneapolis. The snow is here for many months. Hope yours will melt soon.
DeleteYou shine even more in the snow, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteI will have to come over and visit you to get some real snow.
Fabulous, my dear Anne
Congratulations on the first anniversary of your wonderful blog. It has become one of my favorite style reads and the photos are incredible. I am so happy to see that beautiful coat again. I remember that one of my first impression of you was that you possessed the most exquisite and varied coat collection. I look forward to many more delightful posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rebecca for all your supportive comments. I wish you had a blog so I could return the favor because I'm guessing you are one stylish lady!
DeleteI try and thank you!! (Maybe someday I'll venture out into the blogworld myself)
Deleteyou look fabulous for it being so cold!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful jacket! Congrats on the blog anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI understand, why these coat is one of your favorite clothing. The Coat is a very special pieces and your combination with the dark red scarf is so great.

It's nice of you to celebrate your first year of blogging! I can remember many of your old posts and how your blog caught my attention... ( you probably don't know but there is one post in which I drew you...)
ReplyDeleteYou are wearing a wonderful coat and the location is so beautiful!
I wish you a very happy birthday!!! And... many other amazing posts!!
I didn't know about this Dan. How do I find this on your blog, what date is it? Thanks for your kind words.
DeleteWell, it is just a sketch...I drew it because your personality and blod caught my attention... if you like, can have a look in my post archieve of March ( the title of the post is DEDICATED TO...) don't expect too much : I am not an artist, and just draw every now and then...
DeleteYour coat is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of snow...something we rarely see. Of course, in my area when it snows everything shuts down for a while so it is like a vacation day instead of a way of life. I'm sure that lets me see it with rose colored glasses....lol
Such a gorgeous coat, and I love how the burgundy accessories make this a very sophisticated take on a holiday look :)
ReplyDeleteThough I envy you and the coat, I don't envy you and the weather. Yikes, it is beautiful to look at the snow, but it can stay on top of the mountains as far as I'm concerned. You have quite a collection of coats, and they are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteAnn, Love everything about your post, the coat on you, the styling and last but not least, the weather...enjoy it! Sabina Styleblog Only in Frankfurt
ReplyDeleteAnn, you really know your style! This coat is amazing and suits you so well. Just love the burgundy accessories!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos as always.
We i.e. our blogs are the same age :-)

Thank you Annette, fun to see what is happening in a year. You are doing a wonderful job with yours!
DeleteAnd right you are to let this coat return to the front pages. It is so nice. I actually remember it as I thought it was great the first time. Lovely pictures again.
ReplyDeleteNo snow in The Netherlands yet.
Well this is what I do clothes wise, buy the best I can afford, only things a truly adore and wear them for a long time. Less about exactly what is "in" and more about what makes me feel great. I brought some riding boots a while back, gave in to the pressure of what is in and I wish I didn't buy them. Dean was at a suburban mall and asked "What's up with all the riding boots?" I try to stay way from trends that are everywhere because those are the ones that will look dated next year. I really like heels better than anything flat.
DeleteYou do have the loveliest and most interesting collection of coats.

ReplyDeleteCool photos - I mean COLD. You seem to float right off the page, this photograph is so perfect. The coat is like a snowflake. And the burgundy accents are perfect.
ReplyDeleteGosh you have snow! That's the perfect outfit to wear for such a chilly day: looking both wrapped up warm and very sophisticated in that gorgeous coat.

It is a gorgeous coat. I love winter and cool weather dressing best as well. All the layers, the textures, the colours, etc - so much more interesting than summer dress, when I tend to default, these days anyway, to sundresses - my only form of artistic expression in the summer is kick-butt vintage jewellery. :) Lovely backdrop as well. I want your wardrobe. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd give that coat another spin too, in fact, it deserves as many spins as it sees fit. What an incredible background you choose, once again. It does bring remind us of that Blue Hue but oh, what a beauty we've all come to know and love.
ReplyDeleteYou frequently bring back memories! I remember days like you describe and we recently had a cold spell here in Denver. I thought of you!
ReplyDeleteHowever, you make cold look glamorous and ethereal. Glass as background. Black, white and wine colored red. And a warm and lovely smile.
What a gorgeous coat! Your pictures always amaze me.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Dear Ann, wonderful blog! Gorgeous coat! So jealous of snow - it's 80 today here in South CA...

You look absolutely beautiful - glowing! This is my favourite look for you so far, even though all the others are wonderful too.

Gasp! Como Park should pay you to be photographed in that coat in front of their conservatory. Love it, just love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty you are!
What a perfect look for frigid weather! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous coat and location! I love all of the interplay of lines. Stay warm my dear! We are having another December heat wave here in SoCal ... 81 yesterday ... that is a record breaker even for us! My beloved coats are still not getting much wear yet!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love this unique coat and scarf together!! Thanks for sharing with Three-fer Thursday.

Having trouble keeping up with everyone's fab blogs so I'm commenting very late:). Divine coat! Not sure I have the words but it is so beautiful and I think the black and white is very flattering on you Ann. Something about this coat is timeless and I can see it working with a variety of looks and stylings. And as always stunning photos:)
