I like the fit and flair shape and I think it's a style that's wearable by many women. I searched the web this week for this design with sleeves and not too short. Worn with sandals for spring, this style dress can be a nice addition to the wardrobe.

I LOVE THAT DRESS!! I too managed to find a Jessica Howard dress on clearance recently---a blue-to-black ombre long sleeve style. What great value. Any idea what this style is called? I love love love it and would love to find it.
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely.

I looked everywhere to find a link to this dress. I wish I could have found one. At the store it didn't even have a tag so I don't know the style. Tried to find similar designs in winter dresses but all sold out. The clerk just estimated a price for me. Thanks for commenting, wish I could be more helpful.
Deleteno problem---I looked too using Google Images and didn't see anything like. You found a great dress, and you continue to inspire me to try bold things. I got a hold of that zigzag bcbg dress and wore for a big keynote address---a big move for me! Thank you!
DeleteOh that's great, I love that dress too. It's so bold and quite an empowering item. I'm so glad that my posts are helpful! Thanks for letting me know this.
DeleteLove that style dress on you. Ii also really like blonde hair and black :) I'm looking forward to warmer weather, so I can get back outside with blogs. Debbievogler.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYes I know what you mean about black. With a bit of cream and black does look good on blondes. The weather is getting better, isn't it?
DeleteSeriously, you look like a million bucks! I adore that dress on you and of course your clutch is perfect. Ann, you are a very elegant and stylish lady.

Oh thanks Carelia--I've really been getting into the clutch. A year ago I really didn't care for them, but they are my favorite now.
DeleteGreat find Ann - this dress suits you so well. Turtlenecks is one thing I do not have in closet - I always feel like someone is choking me. Thank goodness I don't live in freezing temps or I would probably freeze to death. Have a great weekend!

Never thought this is a dress, Ann. It is fabulous and fits you like a glove!

What a clever find, turtle necks are so classic, and the shape very flattering. Beautiful outfit!

Claaaassic. I saw something like this recently but alas it was too short for my taste and I didn't buy it. The pattern on the skirt is beautiful. I'm glad it's warming up for you - at last!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful dress! The combination of the t neck and skirt in one s very clever and the belt pulls it all together. The print on the skirt is gorgeous. I am not familiar with the designer but will be googling her.
ReplyDeleteJessica Howard makes basic inexpensive daytime usually knit dresses. I tried it on and thought this is so right for me. Maybe it's the color but the design on this skirt seemed perfect for the cut of the dress. Also in sink of the climate where I live.
DeletePure poetry, dear Ann

Oh. your dress is beautiful... I love border prints! You look fabulous! I also love that your handbag does not get lost. It gives it a great pop of color.

Thanks Suzanne, I been experimenting with bags that stand out against the outfits I've been wearing lately. Just started becoming active on Pinerest and like how this looks on others. Up for trying something new.
DeleteThats really a nice dress and I love how styled it. The black turtleneck is so sophisticated with the detail to tie. In my opinion, the whole outfit matches perfect to you. And am I right, if I think, you have a new haircut? It's perfect, I like short hair - but I think you have noticed it already. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend, Conny
Pants and Tops
Thank you Conny. Yes I did get my haircut this week. I've been going shorter so the haircut lasts a bit longer. I can go eight weeks with a trim in the back at 4 weeks. I do like short hair, yours is so cute.
DeleteAnn this Paris-like artistic flair of the dress totally suits you! You should wear that more often!!! And thanks for stopping by last week...Sabina OceanblueStyle
ReplyDeleteI love your clothes! Too bad we don't live near each other, we could trade and raid each other's closets! :-) Love this outfit! That skirt is amazing. I am going to have to look for it. When I see you with your shoes, this is one thing I miss, that with my Ehlers-Danlos,I don't get to wear anymore and that is heel! I love the look of a heel. I am 5'9. so it doesnt matter too much, but I just like the shoes. Looks great.

Silly me! if I would have noticed the title that this is a dress, I would have known! Can you provide the link to wear you can buy it?
ReplyDeletethanks!!
Thanks Jessica for the kind comments. I wish I had seen this dress sooner. I purchased it last week in WI and couldn't find it for sale anywhere on the web, sold out.
DeleteThat is super cute! I love the clutch too - great accent on a great outfit!

That's a fabulous dress! I agree this silhouette is one of the easiest to wear. I see you've included some Nanette Lepore below; she really designs some wonderful fit-and-flare dresses.
ReplyDeleteNanette Lepore designs some wonderful dresses and everything she makes is incredible. Thank you for commenting.
DeleteI love that dress! Ann you look gorgeous :) Great outfit
ReplyDeleteHugs Beata
That's gorgeous! I love how it looks like a skirt and top, but then you don't have the hassle of a waistband or a shirt coming untucked.
ReplyDeleteYou must take amazing care of your clothes and accessories - they always look new!
I agree with Sacramento - very poetic piece! Snowy night... Beautiful, Ann, as always! And such flattering shape on you. I love your earrings too! You have such a long winter this year. I know exactly how it feels, and hope that it is finally over. Spring is just around the corner! Hugs!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow. I love the graphic stripe of your bag, and its shape, against the black and white curves of the skirt.
ReplyDeleteSabina is right, your outfit has a paris artistic flair and fits you so fantastic. You look sophisticated with the turtlenack effect. In every detail your outfit is perfect, even the jeweerly.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend

A perfect dress. Again. Great idea to wear dark opaque tights with it. Bookends the top bit. I always forget the possibilities of tights. Love your clutch with it and the bracelet matching the clutch. Money well spent!!
ReplyDeleteGreetje
PS glad the weather is finally clearing up at your end as well.
It's still to cold to go without tights, snow on the ground and temps in the 20's but some 40's. Thanks for commenting on this clutch.
DeleteI meant I never get past wearing "normal" coloured tights (or hold-ups in my case). Just cannot figure it out how to do it differently.
DeleteOh Ann! Great dress. Yes that can so be used in the summer with 'bare legs'. I for one can't begin to wear tights or nylons in the summer. When it is summer I am so 'au naturale'. hahahaha. Thanks for your warm wishes of wellness. I am all better from the biopsy. One more week to go by then the week of my surgery will be upon me / us. eeeek.
ReplyDeletelovely dress! You look beautifully XXXXX
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress, Ann! And what an amazing print on the flair part!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! That's my favorite style of dress. It's so flattering.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dress. love it , looks perfect on you, how made for you .-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great start in to the new week Ann!
xoxo Kira
I love that dress! And hey, since winter is never ending in the north, you can wear it for several more months. Maybe until July! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! Love the tree design on the bottom (at least that's what I see, but that's also what I see out my window). You look fabulous in it and the turtleneck really frames your face well!

This dress really speaks to me. It is my favorite shape as well. Ann you look perfect.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is stunning on you! I just love the skirt portion!

ReplyDeleteThe dress is beautiful. Love the clutch.
ReplyDeleteFit and flair is such a great description. This silhouette looks stunning on you, and love the accent of your colorful clutch. A touch of spring in the air???
ReplyDeleteThanks Judith! A touch of spring is in the air but it's snowing tonight.
DeleteStill? It's been such a very long winter for you...
Deletesuch a pretty dress, love its shape, so flattering and cute, and also love its print!, black&white is always fabulous! and you look gorgeous wearing it!
ReplyDeletebesos
Gosh I love the design of that dress: the pattern on the skirt makes it so original and special. Looking great my dear!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress! I love the unique print! Of course, you look good in everything Ann! We still have lots of snow with no sign of spring. Did you see the snow on my front lawn? Take a look at the snowbanks - feels like we are living on the North Pole! I'm so tired of wearing boots and I can't wait to shed my winter coats!
ReplyDeleteHappy spring!
♥ carmen
Love that clutch. Versatile and stylish!
ReplyDeleteThis dress speaks of so many possibilities to me. You spoke of styling it for spring, and I can totally see it with pops of coral and a woven handbag. And now, I see the pattern as wintery and sophisticated. I agree; this silhouette is a knock out for most body types!!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessing a little on black and white these days, and what a treat this dress is on you! You look fabulous. Pretty little clutch ... I never think about a little blast of bright color! Must remember to try that ... must remember ... must remember ...
ReplyDeleteOh Ann, thank you! I love hearing every bit of encouragement and cheers in my fight, I do! and ...btw, did you see my yellow clutch I nabbed for $3.50 (it is a Steve Madden!!!!!) ♥
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and love your style. Your pops of color and patterns are great. I am an almost 50 blogger too and love finding more inspirations!
ReplyDeleteI love this look, so elegant and stylish. Take a twirl Ann!

ReplyDeleteSo great. I have a similar dress with white and black stripes, didn't wear it for months and remember it, when I saw these pictures. It looks so good on you. My compliments also for your hairstyling. A cool short cut! Yours, Philo
