Breezy Light Blue

     During the summer months my husband and I exhibit our art at outdoor fine craft shows. Armed with SPF 70 and dark sunglasses I wear many of the knit dresses, like this one, I have shown on my blog. The clothing for an event like this needs to be festive yet practical. For the art shows I wear comfortable silver one inch heeled sandals with this outfit because the shows often require 12-14 hour days and much of the time I stand while conversing with customers. I also wear handmade jewelry, created by one of my friends, to help inspire the audience to purchase unique jewelry.

Sunshine Yellow Bag

     This week I thought I'd try a bright accessory with both light and dark tones. A bright bag is a fun way to change up an outfit that you already have in the closet and make it feel new. This bag, made by Ralph Lauren, also comes in bright green and glorious magenta plus it's on sale at Macy's.

Shiny Patent Leather

     My local consignment shop, Turnstyle in Roseville, Minnesota, began it's summer clearance last week and I picked up three dresses and some patent leather items. I remember a few years ago noticing this bag at Macy's and I'm happy to give these shiny accessories a try for a great price. I'm inspired by many of you fellow bloggers that are excellent consignment and thrift shoppers. Hope it's not too warm in your corner of the world!

Celestial Dots and Black Suede

      I wear this dress often when I don't know what to wear especially in the warm summer months.  I've worn it in all seasons with tall boots, short boots, a red coat, wrap sweaters and denim jackets.......(you get the picture, the list goes on.)

     This dress is probably 8 or 9 years old and it's pilling on the back side of the fabric. I didn't know knit jersey could pill? It seems so hard to find a dress that has sleeves or a hemline at the knee these days. I will keep it in rotation as long as possible because it's one of my most comfortable and favorite items.

Silver with Black Graphic Lines

     These pictures were taken at the Como Park Conservatory and Japanese Garden. We have been trying to photograph here many times this year but it is always packed with visitors. Since this week is a holiday, people have traveled north to resorts and cabins so it was fairly quiet on this beautiful day. Summer in Minnesota can be breathtaking if the weather is cool and adequate rain has fallen like this year.

     I've been watching the clearance sales at Macy's and found these silver coated jeans for a great price. I'm always looking for something new and fun to try. I find I don't wear white tones often, but I am attracted to the shimmery quality of this silver fabric. I am planning to wear the jeans with a textured sweater and short boots in early fall.
