It's Black and White
This is the season for coats here in Minnesota, the icebox of the lower 48 states of the US. Some of you have contacted me in the past wondering where I purchase my coats. This sassy plaid coat is by Guess and is available at several stores listed in my links. I know the "in" style this year is a larger shape, but I like a fitted silhouette.
Worn with my red leather skirt from a past post and classic accessories this coat is ready for winter. The weather was in the 30's today and we were two middle aged romantics, Dean and I, sharing a moment coming up with these pictures!
Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans who read my blog. I appreciate all your comments from all over the world this year and I enjoy so many of your inspiring blogs.

Silver Coated Jeans with Leather
With the Thanksgiving holiday next week here in the US, I decided to mix an outfit for the day that was casual yet festive. These jeans have a metallic coating so they read more dressy than a white jean. Paired with heels, a silk blouse and small colorful bag this outfit feels right for the day.
I've worn these pieces before on my blog. Since photographing my clothing I've seen what a difference accessories make to change an outfit. I picked up the booties by Vince Camuto (here) because the color is unusual. It seemed like I needed some accent color and a cranberry Calvin Klein bag (same bag, different colors) contrasted the shoes.

Art, Fashion and Creativity
Hello everyone! This week I'm giving you a window into my life. These pictures are taken at my studio where I work and I've included some art to give you a flavor of what I do at my job. I just purchased this burgundy leather skirt (here) and I'm wearing it casually with several sweaters for this post. The picture below is a mechanical sculpture by Dean and me where a bird lands in the girl's hand, flowers bloom and she looks down in surprise. We have devoted our lives to the quest of capturing mystery and wonderment.
As those who follow my blog know, I adore accessories. I've been looking for a pair of riding boots this season and found these Tahari boots (same brand, similar here) while outlet shopping. They are leather in the front and stretch fabric on the back. I like that they fit snug to my leg and the fabric back makes them a bit cooler to wear.
Next spring I'm planning on wearing this skirt into the warmer weather. In the below pictures I've added some unusual accessories just for the creative challenge.
I have had these last two sweaters for years. This one is a Missoni piece (see collection) I purchased 25 years ago for 90% off retail before they became as well known here in the US as today. I thought it was a work of art in it's craftsmanship and pattern. The other sweater is from Anthropology (sweaters) and I just didn't have the right thing to wear with it until this skirt.
