Simply Red

One of my earliest clothing memories is about the color red.  I remember standing at the closet door on the school class photo day and with complete clarity declaring I was going to wear this red dress. My mom said, "You don't like red." And I came back "I like red." Looking back my mom just wanted a picture of her daughter she liked. She never wore red and probably really disliked it. Well I wore the red dress and have always had opinions on what I want to wear.

Today when I'm feeling good I wear red. I wear red when I want to be seen and feel at the center of my own life story.

  2. You look fabulous in this outfit and the color red. Not all people can wear red, as it takes a lot of energy to wear red. It can wear a person out who is low key. My mom always put me in black with my blonde hair!

    1. My mom dressed me in a lot of brown and navy. Looking at pictures, it was fine on a blond child.

  12. What a great way to look at wearing red! It does have its own special energy, something yellow and blue just don't capture. And it looks great with this shade of pink - very vibrant and delicious (red and pink candy is always the best!).

  16. Pink and red is such a happy combination. I adore your 'action' shot and as always I find your photos so creative and interesting. This is such a lovely oufit. The pink and red works just so beautifully against your hair and skin tone. Beautiful.

  17. Oh, red! But moreover, red and pink, oh oh! I hated red as a child but adored the combination of red and pink. Everyone told me they can't be worn together.
Not until art school I found out about the Japanese basic color palette - that was such an empowerment. Red and pink were not only tolerated but mandatory.

No small wonder then that I love your today's outfit, print and solid and the perfect harmony they create. Yay to you Ann!

    1. Thanks Juli for your interesting comments. I tried different colors of red for the pants but I thought pink would balance out the photo the best. My hair and coloring seems too light for all bright red.
